Do I have to be referred by a doctor?
No, physiotherapists can assess and treat without referral by a doctor. And, the treatment does not interfere with your ongoing medical treatment.
The concept and principles are similar in both, based on oriental philosophy of Yin - Yang principle and 5 element principle. Prof. Park Jae Woo, the founder / originator of Sujok therapy has simplified the treatment procedure and has created many unique treatment methodologies, using ancient wisdom and a deep understanding of the human anatomy and the cosmic interaction / influence over our mind, body and spirit, over the past 35 years. Infact; Sujok, can be called a way of living harmoniously with nature. In Sujok, the treatment is done only on hand (palm) and feet (foot, below the ankle) in Sujok. In Chinese Acupuncture / medicine treatment it is done on the whole body.
Treatment in Sujok therapy is done using metallic probes, micro-needles, micro-magnets (like star magnets, byol meridian magnets, bar magnets, chakra magnets), colours, micro and mini moxa, rollers, ring massagers, seeds and many other natural materials.

However this is not a requirement or prerequisite for the treatment of most diseases. In case you do not have the relevant reports, the therapist may advise you to conduct some lab tests (only if required), at any diagnostic center of your choice, for diagnostic purposes only. Apart from this it would also be helpful if you carry your brief written medical history, which can be attached to your file.
